All clients utilizing the service of Swanky Mutts must agree to the following terms. Clients will be sent a copy for review and agreement prior to their first appointment. "Client" refers to the pet owner or person scheduling the appointment. "The company", "we", and "our" refers to Swanky Mutts and our staff.
We accept credit/debit cards and cash only. Payment is due immediately at time of service. Payments not made at time of service will be assessed a late fee penalty of $10/day, beginning 24 hours after completion of services.
Cancellations made without adequate notice impact our ability to conduct business. As such, cancellation must be made at least 24 hours (1 business day) in advance to avoid any penalties. Our business days are Monday - Friday and, as such, cancellations for Monday appointments must be made by the equivalent time on Friday. Cancellations made on the weekend prior for a Monday appointment will be considered as having been sent with less than 24 hours' notice. Clients who have violated the business's cancellation policy will be charged a $30 cancellation fee and be required to pay a non-refundable 50% deposit for any future appointments.
Clients who impact our ability to groom their pets by not being home or being late to the scheduled appointment without prior notice will result in immediate cancellation of the groom and will require a payment of 50% of the estimated scheduled appointment, as well as a 50% deposit on any future bookings to continue services with Swanky Mutts. This includes appointments missed due to lack of access to the pet (e.g. forgot to leave a key). If you are concerned about your ability to be available at the scheduled grooming time, ask about our latchkey services.
Both matting and dematting can be painful for your pet. We believe in humanity over vanity. While we will strive to comb out mild matting, moderate or severe matting will require shaving for the safety of your pet. There will be additional charges for matted pets. The removal of matting can sometimes reveal or create skin issues such as hot spots, abrasions, bald spots, nicks, irritations, or fungal infections. The client assumes all responsibility for these conditions.
All pets must be current on their rabies vaccination to book an appointment and/or receive services. If a Swanky Mutts staff member is bitten and a pet is found to be out of compliance on current rabies vaccination, local guidelines will be followed, which may include quarantine and/or euthanasia.
We do our best to make the grooming process as stress-free as possible, for both the pet and our groomers. No pets or groomers will be placed in any unsafe conditions. As such, if we cannot finish your pet's groom for any reason, we reserve the right to end the appointment early and charge for any services completed. This includes, but is not limited to, acts of aggression (such as biting) by the pet, extreme anxiety displayed by the pet, or other unsafe conditions that may impact our ability to groom.
We do not accept pets with fleas, nor do we offer flea treatments. All pets receiving services at Swanky Mutts should be on flea prevention. Any pets found to have fleas will result in immediate termination of services, with payment due immediately for any services completed, plus a flea surcharge of $30 for treatment of our equipment to prevent spread.
While we make effort to be as accurate as possible, all prices for services booked are estimates only and may vary based on a variety of factors including coat condition and pet behavior. Conditions that increase our service time may increase the client's service cost.
We absolutely love our senior pets! Because geriatric pets may be especially prone to conditions that make the grooming process more challenging, such as weak muscles and arthritic limbs, we will make extra effort to make the grooming process as quick and painless as possible. In keeping with "humanity over vanity", clients should be aware that this may sometimes mean a less polished look. Any number of additional situations may occur with geriatric pets, so it is important that Swanky Mutts is informed of any medical condition your pet is experiencing. Recognizing that a senior pet has a greater chance of injury during the grooming process, the client will not hold Swanky Mutts responsible for injury or accident while in our care.
Clients agree to inform Swanky Mutts of any medical conditions with which your pet has been diagnosed. Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or exacerbate an existing one. Because of the nature of working with dogs, accidents such as nicks and cuts can also sometimes occur. Our staff is trained in basic animal first aid. However, if a situation arises that is an emergency, the client grants permission for Swanky Mutts to seek veterinary care for their pet as needed. While we will attempt to utilize the veterinary office you have on file with us, emergencies may require that we take your pet to a different veterinarian based on location. The client agrees to assume financial responsibility for veterinary services. If Swanky Mutts is deemed to be at fault, reimbursement will be provided through our insurance provider. As stated above, the client assumes all responsibility for any conditions resulting from matted coats or geriatric services.
